  • We booked our stay at Chemuyil Club & Villas knowing that for part of our trip we wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of Playa del Carmen and the more touristy areas. The villas could not have been a better place to do this. Tucked away in the back of a tiny village, the villas offered us a private oasis in the middle of the jungle. Our host was very accommodating, even allowing 2 more people to stay in the villa than were originally planned, getting us taxis whenever we needed them and providing us with information about the surrounding beaches, cenotes and other attractions. Do realize that when booking this villa you will be in the middle of a small village so there are not many food options (though the single restaurant La Palapa was relatively good) and you will need to stock up on food if you aren’t planning on leaving the villa too often. The villa is also approximately a 35 minute walk or a 10 minute cab ride to the closest beach, Xcacal.
